MANCHESTER — The license of a physician practicing at Catholic Medical Center (CMC) was suspended Friday after he was found passed out in the parking lot of the hospital on a day he was scheduled to see patients, according to documents filed with a state licensing board.

CMC security found Dr. Joseph B. Savage, an internist who has practiced medicine in New Hampshire since 1981, asleep in his car on Sept. 13 and woke him up. Savage proceeded to urinate in the parking lot, according to the order of emergency license suspension filed by the New Hampshire Board of Medicine. He then went into his office.

The order suspends his medical license at least until a hearing scheduled for Oct. 3.
