House speaker-elect promises bipartisan effort
AUGUSTA, Maine — "My world has definitely changed," said Democratic state Rep. Mark Eves with a laugh, as he talked about the "wild, wild" time he's had since being chosen the next speaker of the House last week.
The North Berwick family therapist and two-term legislator was chosen by his caucus on the first round of voting last week, besting three other candidates who sought the speakership.
